Neue SeiteSchedule Variance (SV)

The schedule variance (SV) is a metric that helps project teams determine if a project is on schedule or lagging. SV is determined by comparing earned value (EV) to planned value (PV).

SV = EV – PV

  • An SV value of 0 indicates that the project is on schedule.
  • A positive SV value indicates that the project is ahead of schedule.
  • A negative SV value indicates that the project is behind schedule.
